Stripper Teddy... wait, what?!

The world has changed and woman and men along with it, we used to define ourselves by cliches, and the movies we saw reinforced them and made them stronger, men identified with action movies filled with hot babes and sport cars, and women with their "chick flicks". Well those times have changed and the cinema world has once again surprised us all, this time by the hand of two beloved, dark humored directors; renowned funny man, Seth McFarlane, who adventures himself for the first time in the big screen after his successful and one of my personal favorite TV shows, Family guy, along with action movie master, Steven Soderbergh, famous for his thrilling blockbusters, like the Ocean's Eleven trilogy.

This two ironic men have interchanged audiences and made us beg for more, who would have thought that in this unique summer, girls would run to the theaters to watch a stripper, and boys would wait with excitement for a story about a teddy bear.
Well, this guys have done it, and I find myself applauding them for bringing some personality to this summer's movie listing.

SUNDAY SEXY TIME

As I mentioned before, when I started this blog, love and sex are one of the things that make life really amazing, and this is a fact I'm sure every romantic girl, and every...well.... guy, would agree!

But sex is not just the act, it is also about feeling good with yourself, loving your body, no matter what size, shape or color it is, sex is about enjoying that sexiness within, letting yourself be unique, and being proud of what you are.

So for all those girls out there on a lazy Sunday try mixing it up and surprise your man, or yourself, after all who cares if you have a man or not; the important thing is to look at your reflection, feel good about your body, and say to that beautiful girl in the mirror... I look goooood ;)!!

A taste of modern Mexico

They say food is one of the greatest pleasures in life, and personally I couldn’t agree more, all my life I had a father who loved food more than anything else, but not just any food, it had to be good food, ingredients that would water your mouth and stay in your mind in the long run, dishes that could represent an entire country and that would evoke memories and places.

Well yesterday I didn’t just get to enjoy some really good food, I also got to honor my father, a great Mexican man, with some extremely well prepared Mexican plates.

RAÍZ (Av. de los Jinetes 102, Col. Las Arboledas, Atizapán de Zaragoza, Estado de México)

Raíz, is not just any regular Mexican restaurant, it is an odyssey of flavors and culture.

Mexican food is known for its spices and the combination of strong flavors like chili, cacao and more, well this restaurant is not just a tribute to all this amazing flavors that have been passed through history, intensifying our culture and traditions, most importantly, its a clash between our history and our past, with that of a modern, new Mexico.

From the food to the place, you can feel at home, just like eating at your grandma’s house savoring that safe and yummy mole, combined with that extra touch of being in a lounge, in a cool and hip Mexico city.

A restaurant with contrasts, just like our Mexico is. A restaurant with elegance and culture, supervised by a great chef, named Arturo Férnandez, who I personally know and admire, a person that puts his whole self in every bite and corner of Raiz.

If you want to enjoy a great taste of modern Mexico, this is definitely the place.

THE NIGHT CIRCUS

Summer, is one of the best parts of the whole year, it is when some of us finally get some time to rest, relax, read and watch whatever we want, cause lets admit it, we basically look forward to returning to school or to our jobs with our brains a little atrophied from all that laziness.

Well, at the beginning of my summer a great friend of mine gave me the perfect start for my summer reading list, to keep that lazy brain of mine still working.

THE NIGHT CIRCUS

 A 2011 fantasy novel by Erin Morgenstern.

Who doesn’t love the circus? A thriller? And a tumultuous love story? well this book got it all.

A love story between two illusionists, forced since their childhood with one single purpose, to fight in a war of smarts and wit by their very demanding tutors. Set near a historical Victorian London in a wandering magical circus that is open only from sunset to sunrise. Le Cirque des Rêves, the Circus of Dreams, immerses us in a world where we can almost smell the chocolate popcorn, feel the night's electricity and touch the odd creations the circus provide for us.

A book told with many character points of views, making the story dynamic. 

With not a single moment of boredom, this book takes us on a magical journey by the hand of every crewmember of this very special circus, making us fall in love with such very different and unique people.

The circus we all wished to visit, in this entertaining book to pass away the summer hours.

I very much recommend it, after all, this fantasy books are part of what make life good ;)!
